The Importance of MATH

“Math is everywhere, yet we do not recognize it because it doesn’t look like the math we encounter in school”----- a thought that popped in my mind after seeing Donald in Math Magic Land.

          Math, in the world around us, seems to be invisible.  But it is the absence of it we don’t recognized it fonder.  It is present in our world:  in school, in home, and in general.  When we cover our books, follow a recipe, or budget our allowances for the entire week, we are already using math principles.

 Mathematics is about pattern and structures, about logical analysis, deduction and calculation.  It can be used to explain and control natural happenings and situation in different areas of Science and Technology, which makes me think the reason why great mathematicians are also one heck of a scientist.

Math is vital to daily life.  The vast majority of people weren’t getting through a day without using some sort of math from cooking, solving problems and following instructions.  Thus, we should be aware of the wide importance of it. 

         

Math also influences our relaxation activities like just in playing games.  It is said that games are played with mathematical evidences just like in playing chess and billiard which needs analysis, calculation and strategy to win.

All things on earth have mathematical logic.  It is said to be the key to the future through curious and empowered minds as stated in the film.  As what Galileo Galilee said, “Mathematics is the alphabet which God has written the universe.”
